So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.

It's this easy?
I think sometimes we give the Devil too much credit. We tend to underestimate the power of God. This hit me as I was reading this verse. "'Yell a loud no to the Devil'? Really? That's too easy, come on God. I know there has to be some trick. Maybe first I should fast, or maybe I just have to put up with it to show how tough I am."
Or maybe all we have to do is declare who is Lord in our lives.
We need to live every day knowing that God is a whisper away. That no matter what we face He wants to help us. He wants us to be serious about Him and make it clear to the Devil that we aren't buying what he is selling. It's easy to build up the Devil and give him credit for everything bad that happens, but sometimes maybe it's just us. You see, the Devil isn't God. (Shocked a few people there). He is a fallen angel. He doesn't know what you are thinking, he's not always resting on your shoulder, he doesn't possess the power that God does. He has been watching you though. He knows how to get to you. He understands what makes you fall and how to tempt you. The encouraging thing is that none of that matters as long as you depend on God, who is within a whispers distance. John 4:4 says "...greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."
So everyday remember who is in control. Declare Christ in your life because honestly, the Devil doesn't stand a chance.
