Why Don't You Do Something About It?

Have you ever had one of those moments where it hits you? Where you feel so strongly that God is talking to you and that he wants you to do something? It is an incredible prompting. Those are the prayer times that move us. It's in those kind of moments where we feel like nothing can stop us. That no matter what happens we are following through to the end.

And then 10 minutes go by...

Your mind begins to race. Your human nature begins to creep up and make you question everything that you were so firm on just a little while ago. You begin to sift through the plans and come up with the idea that it just won't work. You begin to wonder what others will think? "What if I fail?" "Am I just backing out of a situation I don't want to be in?" All of these stupid, fleshy thoughts run through our mind like a hamster in a wheel and eventually we flake. Eventually we give in to the natural and completely forget about the supernatural. We decide that no matter what God's voice sounded like, it just won't work for us...

But, what happens if we listen?

What happens if we walk to the edge of the high dive and jump off with all of our force and find that God is waiting to catch us? Isn't that a risk worth taking?

I really like what Mark Batterson says in his book Wild Goose Chase.
"Pray about everything. Then pray some more. But at some point, you need to quit praying and start acting."
We all do this. We spend months praying and seeking advice from God when, in reality, we can do something about it ourselves. If you had that original prompting than is it that far of a stretch to say that God has already answered your prayer? Maybe He's the one waiting for you.

Is it that time for you? Should you be making the decision that could change your life forever? Have you heard God's voice directing you and then suppressed it with your own mortal will? I encourage you that no matter what you think, as long as God has your back it's more than safe to take that step. As long as your are living a life that is pleasing to Him, you should never be afraid. It may take days, or even years before you feel like He caught you after that initial jump; but nonetheless that moment is worth everything.

Stop Praying and Start Acting,
Shane
